How to Repair Faded Pavers
Materials Needed:
- Paver cleaner
- Scrub brush
- Pressure washer
- Paver sealer
- Paint roller
- Paint tray
- Paintbrush
Step 1: Clean the Pavers
Start by cleaning the faded pavers using a paver cleaner. Dilute the cleaner according to the instructions on the packaging. Use a scrub brush to scrub the cleaner onto the pavers, paying extra attention to any stained or discolored areas. Allow the cleaner to sit for the recommended amount of time, usually around 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: Rinse with Pressure Washer
After the cleaner has had time to work, rinse the pavers thoroughly with a pressure washer. Start at one end of the paver area and work your way across, ensuring that all the cleaner and dirt is removed. Adjust the pressure washer settings as needed to avoid damaging the pavers.
Step 3: Allow Pavers to Dry
Once the pavers are clean, allow them to dry completely before proceeding to the next step. This may take a few hours or even overnight, depending on the weather conditions.
Step 4: Apply Paver Sealer
Using a paint roller, apply a layer of paver sealer to the dry pavers. Pour the sealer into a paint tray and roll the roller in the tray to coat it evenly. Start at one end of the paver area and work your way across, making sure to cover all the pavers with a thin, even layer of sealer. Use a paintbrush to reach any areas that the roller cannot reach.
Step 5: Allow Sealer to Dry
After applying the sealer, allow it to dry according to the instructions on the sealer packaging. This usually takes a few hours, but it's best to wait overnight to ensure the sealer has fully cured.
Step 6: Repeat if Necessary
If the pavers are still faded after the first application of sealer, you may need to repeat steps 4 and 5 to achieve the desired results. Apply an additional coat of sealer and allow it to dry completely.
Step 7: Enjoy Your Revitalized Pavers
Once the sealer is dry, your faded pavers should look refreshed and vibrant. Take a step back and admire your handiwork, and enjoy your newly repaired pavers!
